Fiber optic connection adapters

Fiber optic adapters (or optical connection outlets) are an integral part of any data transmission network that uses fiber optic cable. They allow fiber optic cables to be connected to each other and to other network devices such as switches, routers, and servers.

FC, SC, ST, and LC optical connectors are some of the most popular types of fiber optic adapters. They are used in many telecommunications applications, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area access networks (WAN), storage area networks (SAN), and metropolitan area networks (MAN).

FC, SC, ST, and LC fiber optic adapters are designed and manufactured in accordance with international standards JIS, IEC, EIA/TIA, and ANSI. They also provide high connection density in the panel, making them an ideal choice for use in any network.

FC adapters are available in MM or SM versions, for connectors with PC and APC polishing. The requirements for key slot width (Seiko Instruments or Seikoh Giken standard) for APC adapters, sleeve type (phosphor bronze or zirconia), and adapter design can be clearly specified: various flange shapes, D-shaped hole, DD-shaped hole, etc.


SC adapters are manufactured according to JIS, IEC, EIA/TIA, and ANSI standards to ensure compatibility and excellent optical characteristics. SC adapters are available for MM or SM applications, designed for connectors with PC and APC polishing. The order code allows you to specify exactly the requirements for sleeve type (phosphor bronze or zirconia) and adapter design; a duplex version is also available. In addition to standard SC adapters, a wide range of hybrid adapters is offered, providing connections between different types of connectors. SC adapters can be equipped with a protective shutter to eliminate hazardous laser radiation in high-power optical systems.

ST adapters are offered in MM or SM versions, for connectors with PC polishing. It is possible to specify exact requirements for the sleeve (polymer, phosphor bronze, or zirconia) and adapter design: metal or plastic.

The innovative LC design has a small SFF form factor—half the size of current industry standards—and allows devices to be used in a compact housing. Simple features create a new definition of user convenience. LC meets EIA/TIA 568A, FOCIS 10, and IEC 11801 specifications for optical characteristics and compatibility. LC Duplex fits the standard SC mounting hole.
