OPTOKON offers MCP patch cords for single-mode Gigabit Ethernet applications that connect to a multimode line. This patch cord consists of specially designed connectors on each end of the cable assembly and a special scrambler at the connection point with the multimode fiber. This patch cord optimizes the launch conditions of single-mode transceivers -LX (1300 nm), which are used for Gigabit Ethernet and must operate on both single-mode and multimode fibers. A single-mode laser launched into the center of a multimode fiber can generate multiple signals, which complicate reception at the other end of the fiber. These multiple signals, caused by the differential mode delay (DMD) effect, limit transmission distances. The OPTOKON MCP patch cord eliminates these multiple signals by aligning the single-mode fiber launch in the center of the multimode fiber core.
- patch cord for Singlemode-Multimode transition;
- connection of Gigabit Ethernet transmitters;
- wide selection of connector types on both ends of the cable;
- high quality and reliability.
