The PM-240-MTP Multifiber Optical Power Meter and LS-240-MTP Multifiber Optical Light Source are essential tools for testing and maintaining optical networks with MTP/MPO connectors. The PM-240-MTP measures absolute or relative optical power in both SM and MM fibers, recognizing “live” and “dark” fibers, and eliminating the need for fan-out connectors. It can store and upload over 500 measurements, with data export capabilities. The LS-240-MTP light source tests patchcords and cables, sending light through all fibers manually or automatically, and works with the PM-240-MTP to measure insertion loss and check polarity. Both devices are portable, lightweight, and feature rechargeable Li-Pol batteries with USB charging.
PM-240-MTP Multifiber Optical Power Meter
The PM-240-MTP optical power meter is designed to measure absolute or relative optical power in optical networks terminated with 12/24 multifiber MTP/MPO connectors, in both SM and MM fibers. The tester can simultaneously measure optical power levels in up to 12 fibers of MTP/MPO connectors and can recognize “live” and “dark” fibers. It eliminates the need for fan-out from multi to single fiber connectors. Together with the LS-240-MTP light source, it can measure insertion loss in all 12 fibers at the same time and check the polarity status of fiber interconnections between both MTP connectors. The input port ensures interconnection between the measured MTP/MPO connector and 12/24 photodetectors. Due to physical contact between connectors, cleanliness of both is required, preferably with a visual check before measurement.
The internal memory allows storage and uploading of more than 500x 12-fiber cables, including cable and fiber number, wavelength, absolute value, or insertion loss. The Data Exporter software allows the user to export stored data to Excel sheets or other applications.

The LS-240-MTP multifiber optical light source is designed for testing patchcords and cables terminated with multifiber MTP/MPO connectors. This portable testing device meets all necessary technical field equipment requirements. It can send light one by one into all 12/24 fibers of MTP/MPO connectors, with the switching process done manually or automatically. Together with the PM-240-MTP power meter, it can measure insertion loss in all 12 fibers simultaneously and check the polarity status of fiber interconnections between both MTP connectors. The output port is based on a standard MTP male – pins connector.
