The Geo-BeamTM EX explosion-proof series was developed in accordance with the requirements of the ATEX IECEx 60079 standard for use in hazardous environments in Zone 1 and Zone 2. The Geo-BeamTM EX product range consists of a line of modules that are integrated into the connector and mounted in a box, and are manufactured using 316 stainless steel, making them capable of withstanding the most extreme operating conditions. The product uses a Tri-Start trapezoidal connection, which provides a smaller rotation angle and an additional locking mechanism that ensures a secure connection, as well as an audible click signal to confirm reliable mating. A standard ATEX-approved metric cable gland can be used, suitable for all types of Geo-BeamTM EX connectors. The cable glands used allow for the termination of various cable systems. The Geo-BeamTM EX connector with expanded beam is designed using a standard expanded beam insert. The insert allows for up to 8 expanded beam channels or a hybrid option, providing a combination of power, electrical, and optical connections in a single solution.
